Introducing OSsistant
Why OSORA exists: surgical planning in orthopaedic & trauma care needs a new approach
Helping patients regain mobility after musculoskeletal injuries remains a major clinical challenge. While more therapeutic options are available than ever before, the pace at which state-of-the-art technology is transforming medical care continues to accelerate. At OSORA, we took a deep dive into unmet clinical needs and explored how AI-powered simulation technology can deliver tangible value in orthopaedic and trauma care:
- Safer healing: Identify and mitigate risks early to avoid complications and non-unions. We have shown that AI-powered simulations can be a powerful tool for surgical risk assessment and management.
- More effective treatment: Fully exploit the design space of osteosynthesis configurations and gain a deeper understanding of why failures occur.
- Moving beyond one-size-fits-all: AI-driven clinical decision support can integrate diverse medical data sources and should be used to tailor treatment to the individual patient.
How user testing shaped the concept and feedback started to converge
We validate one feature at a time, continuously refining our understanding of essential needs, performance-critical features, and true differentiators. This iterative process defines our roadmap:
- Education, in silico analytics, and clinical fracture management have driven our learning curve and business development, ultimately shaping the OSsistant concept.
- VSOU, CAOS, ESB, DKOU, and more: Conferences have been essential for connecting with clinical and scientific experts, understanding the competitive landscape, and building long-term relationships.
- Investor perspective: OSORA secured its first funding round and benefits greatly from proactive co-investors. We also established our first connections in the US, with China next on the horizon. In 2026, we plan to raise our next financing round.
What we want to achieve with OSsistant for patients
Will OSsistant be a game changer? Only traction and data will tell. What is clear is our commitment: the OSORA team is fully dedicated to improving how orthopaedic and trauma care is delivered. Our goals with OSsistant are clear:
- Predictive: Proactive risk management to minimize adverse events such as healing complications and non-unions.
- Data-driven: Optimization of fracture reduction strategies, fixation techniques, and rehabilitation protocols, seamlessly integrated along the entire patient journey.
- Personalized: Every patient is different, and treatment should reflect that. OSsistant enables personalized treatment planning by aligning rehabilitation intensity with individual healing potential and patient-specific goals.
